I’ve been working on updating all of our Joomla! and MWG components for the new year, J1.6, and MWG 3.0 – all to be released “soon”.
In doing so, I’ve had a chance to revisit many of our service providers, including AWeber (aff.).
UPDATED: 12/28 … it’s a currently a reporting interface.

With the release of the updated AWeber Jomlink software, I had a chance to visit the Joomla Extensions Direction in order to create a new listing.
Anyway, I found some posts that made me realize … I’ve never fully described the power that our AWeber software has. It really is the best bridge from AWeber to Joomla available. Ok, so as a proud “dad” of the software I may be a little biased. But really, it rocks.
So I decided to write a post … over at the Intellispire blog … on exactly why it rocks. And how, over the years, it has evolved from a “scratch” of approximately 12 lines of code to a complex, robust bridge to one of the most popular email services in the world.
Do, spend a moment and hop over to the Intellispire blog and check out this post:
Why the AWeber to Joomla Link (jomlink) rocks.

This week has been a great time to purchase software products that you can use for yourself, or for beginning to build your own inventory of digital products you can sell. The topics I’ll covert today include the MWG 1.2.3, AWeber Jomlink, Epic Firsale and Source Code Goldmine.
Eric Holmlund’s “Epic Firesale” ends today. This is a series of 32 software and 14 ebook products that you can use or sell in your business. I’ve downloaded and looked at the source code (which you you can purchase additionally), and most products are pretty good. Some are PHP, Delphi and a little Visual Basic thrown in. Note that you DO NOT need the source code to sell the products: the initial offer includes everything you need: the product, documentation and sales website, to make a fully functional reseller website.
However, with the source, you can take the products and brand them as your own, which is highly desirable from a branding standpoint. You can see the bonus package I’ve put together at the Epic Firesale bonus page.
Remember, this sale ends shortly.
Also, Jeremy Burns has put together his latest source code goldmine package. This package consists of 10 high quality ebooks – you’ll want to read the Source Code Goldmine review to find out more.
Marketing Website Generator has released version 1.2.3 of the the open source Membership Management System. The MMS system is software you run on your website to manage your membership and products. This is a free download after account creation.
My company, Intellispire has released version 3.1 of the AWeber Jomlink software, used to connect your Joomla powered website to your AWeber auto-responder service (or any one of the many compatible systems, such as jvlistpro).

The Aweber Plugin for Joomla! was just released to the Extensions directory this afternoon, and already people are installing it on their sites.
You can visit the Joomla! Extension page directly:
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,5634/Itemid,35/
This is a “plugin” that sends a “subscribe” email to Aweber every time someone creates an account on your site, whether through the standard signup process, Community Builder or via a Virtue Mart purchase or AEC subscription.
It can be purchased directly through the site or through the updater.
One question I frequently get is: I’m already using “1ShoppingCart:” (insert name of 1ShoppingCart private label), why do I need Aweber too? They already provide
The answer is actually pretty simple. Aweber does one thing, and they do that one thing well: they deliver email. 1SC and other systems do mail as an “extra feature”, and don’t always get it right.
The bottom line is that if you are serious about getting traditional email delivered, Aweber (and its brands such as JVListPro) is the way to go – even if you are using other solutions that have “build in” email systems as well.
And now, with the Aweber Plugin for Joomla! you get to harness that power with your Joomla! site. Of course the plugin works perfectly well with JVListPro, too.
